About Our Chapter

LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Welcome to the Indiana Delta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at Purdue University!

I began my college journey at Purdue knowing close to no one on campus as I am an out of state student. Initially, I knew I needed to venture out of my comfort zone, try new things, and become involved. Through Meet the Greeks held by FSCL, I signed up for formal recruitment. At the moment I joined recruitment, I had no idea the support, academic help, or leadership possible in my future. Pi Beta Phi stood out to me as I entered first invite. This round shared a philanthropy that is near to my heart, Pi Phi Literacy Fund. Not having any previous knowledge of the other organizations’ philanthropies, I was thrilled to hear one that directly related to me. The conversations I had with the members felt like speaking with childhood friends. It was from these moments on I knew I had found my forever home.

As unusual as this past year and semester have been, I often find myself reflecting with my sisters how blessed we are to have met each other and formed such strong bonds that are much needed during a time of isolation. The members of the IN-Delta chapter have extensively shown their commitment to protecting others in the community through our core values. It has been amazing to see the empathy that each member shows for the community and their dedication to our philanthropy. Throughout my time in this house, my appreciation for academics has grown. While having many different majors in the house, study groups are utilized and help from other members is selfless. With each member is a different upbringing, appreciation, and outlook on life. In this house, diversity is accepted and appreciated.

I have grown such an immense love for this specific chapter of Pi Beta Phi along with the Fraternity as a whole. No matter where I go, I am so amazed at the impact our Fraternity has on the community, as well as introducing me to my lifelong friends and helping me grow intellectually and personally.

Pi Phi Love,

Jane Sununu
